ANESTHESIS
In the treatment of health problems, anaesthesia is applied before surgery to prevent pain and ache during surgical operations. Anaesthesia and reanimation specialists working in health institutions help the patient to undergo surgery and bring the patients in intensive care units back to life.
The specialist, who ensures that the patient and his/her relatives are informed and prepared about the anaesthesia procedure before the operation takes place, applies anaesthesia to the patient in the operating room with the appropriate anaesthesia method and the appropriate dose of drugs, and ensures that the patient feels the pain and pain during the operation at the minimum level. In the meantime, drugs are used in the dosage determined by the anaesthesiologist.
It is also the duty of the anaesthesia unit to ensure that the patient’s veins and airway are open during the operation, to control the patient’s vital functions such as pulse and blood pressure during the operation, and to prevent the patient’s blood and fluid loss. Reanimation also controls the patient’s vital activities and respiration during the new awakening.
The anaesthesia and reanimation unit plays an important role in the follow-up and treatment of critically ill patients in the intensive care unit.
