Emergency Service is a service established to provide the fastest intervention in cases where medical intervention needs to be done quickly. In these situations, which can sometimes be life-threatening, the unit, which is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, is divided into 3 areas according to the condition of the patient.
Doctors and staff trained in this field work in the emergency department.
Each patient coming to the emergency department is triaged and evaluated by the Emergency Physician. First intervention, preliminary diagnosis and treatment are carried out, and if necessary, they are referred to the consultant physician of the relevant branch for further examination and treatment.
What Do Area Colours Mean in the Emergency Department?
- RED AREA:
It is the area reserved for priority patients. It is the intervention area for life-threatening accidents and severe diseases that do not have a waiting situation. In general; It is the area designated for the fastest intervention without waiting in cases such as shock, heart attacks and cardiac arrest, breathing problems, coma, anaphylaxis, sharp instrument injuries, armed injuries, serious traffic accidents.
- YELLOW FIELD:
It is the area designated for intervention in patients who can wait for a short time, especially in accidents and traumas with the risk of permanent damage.
- GREEN AREA:
Emergency patients who have the opportunity to wait more than Red and Yellow area patients are cared for. Patients who do not pose a risk to life, who do not have a health risk in waiting, but who do not have the chance to wait until the morning, especially at night for pain and similar complaints, are cared for in this area.
