Interventional Radiology
The interventional radiology unit is a center where diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are performed under imaging guidance through pinhole-sized entry points, offering minimally invasive alternatives to surgery. Working with multidisciplinary tumor boards, our team plans endovascular and tissue-targeted procedures under ultrasound, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance (MR) guidance, often under local anesthesia or sedation and on a day-case basis. The patient’s entire journey, from diagnosis to treatment, is managed under one roof with fast appointments and personalized protocols.
Advantages
– Less pain and faster recovery thanks to non-surgical or minimally invasive procedures
– Same-day discharge for most procedures and minimal time away from work/daily life
– Targeted treatment under imaging guidance that preserves surrounding tissue
– Reduced need for general anesthesia and large surgical incisions
– Minimal stitches/scarring; cosmetically favorable results
– Can be repeated when necessary and combined with other treatments (medication, surgery, radiotherapy)
– Personalized planning and standardized safety protocols
– Low complication rate; risks are evaluated in detail before the procedure.
At Bölge Hospital, patient safety, speed, and comfort are our priorities; our multidisciplinary team carries out emergency and elective procedures with 24/7 coordination.
