Eyelid Aesthetics (Blepharoplasty)

It is performed to eliminate the problems in the lower and upper eyelid (looseness, drooping, signs of aging, excess skin, bagging, asymmetry, etc.), which increase with the decrease in skin elasticity, especially with the advancement of age. The muscle and fat tissue under the skin are intervened according to the need.

It is usually performed under local anaesthesia. An incision is made in the upper eyelid fold. It is usually closed with absorbed sutures. Intermittent ice is applied for the first 48 hours for swelling and bruising, which are relieved after 2-3 days. For 1 week, it is recommended to apply a dressing over the stitches. Within 1 week, non-absorbable stitches are removed.

The operation is performed with a skin approach involving an incision made just below the eyelashes in the lower eyelid.

The desired amount of skin and fat tissue is removed. Additional sutures are used to hang the lower eyelid edges to support the lower eyelid. The skin incision is closed with sutures.

Ice application and artificial tear drops are used for the first 48 hours after the operation. Non-absorbable sutures are removed in 1 week. Within 1 week, swelling and bruising usually disappear. In rare cases of spot bruising lasting 15 days, it can be covered with make-up.
